TripAdvisor represents the world’s largest online travel community. The website is home to millions of unbiased and honest traveler reviews. The best resorts for families were awarded based upon those that were most highly rated by people traveling with their families. The family resort is particularly enthused by the news after experiencing an unusually difficult summer and fall. On August 21, 2014, Woodloch experienced severe flash flooding, causing substantial damage to the indoor pool, kiddie splash zone, gift shop, bar, locker rooms, hallways and 28 guest accommodations. Since then, employees have been working tirelessly alongside clean-up and construction crews to ensure that renovations and repairs were completed as quickly as possible. Finally, on Friday, January 16th, Woodloch reopened its indoor pool once again, completely renovated and improved. “We are ecstatic to receive such wonderful news after having experienced a large-scale disaster and essentially having to rebuild a major part of our resort, an effort that took over four months and millions of dollars. We are truly humbled by this momentous accolade. This could not have been accomplished without the hard work and sincere hospitality of our staff members as well as our loyal and passionate guests who want to share their experiences with the world. We thank you for standing by us through this unprecedented time of rebuilding.” says John Kiesendahl, CEO and President of Woodloch Pines. In the wake of the disaster, the all-inclusive resort is taking the opportunity to improve upon an already good thing.  “We’re all about giving our guests new, different and improved experiences each time they visit,” remarks Kiesendahl. Plans are being laid out for a new and exciting water feature - Dueling Slides, as they are being called. They will be adjacent to the current pool, an area that was previously home to racquetball courts.
