Managing Your SEO

SEO - Blog

Looking to achieve a higher search rank? Of course you can pay-per-click through Google AdWords, or you can learn about search engine optimization (SEO) and put together a plan that will improve how search engines view your website. Whether you’re planning to run your own SEO or hire a service to take care of it, we believe it is important to know the following tips in order to improve your search ranking.

Content is Critical

Search engines need to crawl through your content to determine the quality of your website. This doesn’t mean that quantity will overpower quality. Make sure what you’re publishing on your site, whether it’s text, audio or video content, is high quality and serves a purpose on your website. This high quality content will encourage visitors to share it on social media as well as link to your website.  If you are regularly publishing quality content, you will see an increase in your Page Rank and positioning within SERP’s.

Control your Keywords

When it comes to keywords, less is more. While it may seem like a good idea to load your web pages with keywords (keyword stuffing), it is actually better to stick to a few keywords per page.

You should keep the same keywords in your page titles and URLs as well as your PPC advertisements in order to create an overall cohesive feel throughout your website and marketing efforts. Keeping these keywords consistent will make your web page appear stronger to search engines.

No One Waits to Connect

The faster your website loads, the better it is for the the overall experience of your visitors. Sluggish load times are likely to rank lower than faster ones. Plus, a slower web page leads to a higher bounce rate.

Earn Your Links

With the temptation to purchase links all over the internet, it is crucial to know that these could potentially hurt your business more than help, and there’s not benefit to that! On the other hand, earning links through endorsements will benefit your brand. Although this may take some time and work on your end, these reputable backlinks will have a sizable impact on your SEO.

Keep on Learning

Investing time and resources in learning about SEO (whether you’re managing your own or not) will lead to a better understanding of why your website ranks where it does, and how you can continually improve your search ranking. It’s important to trust the process instead of opting for a quick fix without thoroughly researching beforehand.  .

With these five tips, you’ll be able to get a better handle on your business’ SEO. Although it cannot be seen by the average website visitor, it makes a major impact on whether or not they’ll see your website, stay on your pages, and hopefully book a trip.
